Parameter "Processes to Create" in p_publish_06

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph

    Description:
We have started service p_publish_06 with option "LAST-DATE" and "Processes to Create"=6. It seems that only one process has been started. Is this the way it should work?

    Resolution:
Indeed the parameter "Processes to Create" is ignored when p_publish_06 is started with option "LAST-DATE" ("From last handled date"). The only option that uses this parameter is DOC ("Range of documents"). In all other cases only one process is started.

The reason for this system behaviour is, that only with option DOC the system has the information how many documents needs to be handled. These documents can be divided on different cycles to be handled by the different processes. In all other cases for technical reasons the job has no information to divide the documents that needs to be handled.

    Additional Information

    p_publish_06, number of processes
