Placement of isbn/issn line in tab_filing

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 16.02

    Description:
Where in the order of the tab_filing table do we add the "isbn" line? Is it possible to call the routine for isbn only, as the problems we are trying to correct occur in isbns only and not issns?

    Resolution:
The filing_isbn and filing_issn are separate programs. There is no problem in doing just one or the other. Both programs decide where to cut by looking for a space or a left parenthesis "(". The isbn (or issn) line *must* be before any "compress_blank" routine. If you have cases of ISBNs (or ISSNs) with left parenthesis which are not preceded by a blank, then the isbn (or issn) line should also precede any "to_blank" line which includes the left parenthesis. [From Development:] All necessary filing routines for issn and isbn are within the filing routines. It should be just a single line, like this: 26 isbn

    Additional Information

    ISBN, ISSN
