We're trying to determine some stats for future virtual storage space. We've run a few bib records through and see that each bib records takes up approximately 2 KB of space on the server. Is this accurate? I thought it was higher. And what about for HOL/item/AUT/ADM records?

Do you have any numbers you can give me on the average Aleph record sizes?

The bib record itself averages about 1K, but the keyword and other indexes take up far more space.

Adding the files in your TSnD and TSnX tablespaces on sun01-M505, as seen in util o/13/1, I find that they total 50 gig.

And looking at util o/14/1, I see that you have 21 gig free in the TSnD and TSnX tablespaces.

This means that 29 gig is being used.

Since you have 355,086 bib records and 15,401 authority records, this means that roughly 78K is being used per record.
