    Random "This station (IP address) cannot return items belonging to ..."

    Description:
    Three or fourl times a day we get the following messages on one particular Circ PC:

    This station (IP address) cannot return items belonging to ...
    This station (IP address) cannot loan items belonging to ...

    At other times of the day it will be fine. In all we have around 20 computers that can check out materials. So far, this is the only one with this problem.

    The IP address for this machine is 199.8.234.92

    To get an idea of when this problem occurs, we are keeping a log. But thus far I have seen no consistency of times.

    Resolution:
    Looking at the pc_server log, I see the following. That is, I don't see any 199.8.234.92.

    IP Address : 199.008.234.090:9666
    IP Address : 199.008.234.091:60134
    IP Address : 198.051.243.003:55244

    [From site:] 198.051.243.003 is in our IP range, but it is NOT the address of this pc or any pc in our library.

    [From site:] With the IP address information, we were able to determine that the computer was trying to connect up to the wireless internet at random. When it tried to make the connection, it would knock ALEPH offline.
