    Re-indexing the Course Reserves database

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20

    Description:
    If I need to re-index the Course Reserves database (ABC30) which processes would I run at Version 20 to do so?

    Resolution:
    The only reason you might want/need to reindex the abc30 might be changes to the abc30 $data_tab tab00, tab11_word, tab11_acc, tab11_ind, tab_filing, or tab_word_breaking. In which case you would run the jobs relevant to the change you have made, e.g.,

    for tab11_ind, p_manage_05;
    for tab11_word, p_manage_01;
    etc.

    There is no need to do a complete reindexing. This is not recommended.

    That being said, the "How To Run Index Jobs", section 2.4, has the "Typical job sequence for Course Reading library":

    p_manage_05
    p_manage_02
    p_manage_17
    p_manage_01
    p_manage_07
    p_manage_27

    With version 20, the following should be added (after p_manage_27):

    p_union_01
    p_union_02
    util a/17/1 for xxx30 z127
    csh -f $aleph_proc/create_z127
    p_manage_12 (with "Delete all Links?" "No")
