Renewals not blocked for fines -- despite tab_block_circ being set correctly

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 18.01

    Description:
    [From ALEPH-NA:]

    > We came up on Aleph 18.01 this summer, and have recently determined that our users are not blocked from renewing items (through either self-service renewal or mediated renewal at the circ desk) when they are above our $5.00 fine threshold.
    >
    > We checked the tab_block_circ table and column 6 indicates patrons should be blocked if they owe more than $5.00. The only thing we can think is that tab_block_circ is not working as it should be. Has anyone else dealt with this?

    Resolution:
[From ?tienne Audet, Universit? du Qu?bec ? Trois-Rivi?res:]

Make sure you have a line for this check in tab_check_circ

! 9_a: check overdues and fines -ADM library
! checks maximum overdues, recalled overdues and fines, for the
! ADM library based on tab_block_circ
! 9_b: check overdues and fines -sublibrary
! checks maximum overdues and recalled overdues in a sublibrary
    ! based on tab_block_circ
! 10_a: same as 9_a except that all loans are taken into account -
! active, lost and claimed return
! 10_b: same as 9_b except that all loans are taken into account -
! active, lost and claimed return

    Example :

    RENEW check_circ_10_b
