Running the Automatic Implementation Notes (UTIL SP 5/7)

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20

    Description:
For the new service pack option in v20, AIN (UTIL SP 5/7), does this have to be run while Apache and Aleph are down?

Also, in the rep_changes Excel spreadsheet, for the changes that have "Not Required" under the Implementation Notes, are these automatically handled when the service pack is installed (UTIL SP 4) or do they need to be handled via UTIL SP 5/7? I'm just wondering if the AIN option is just for those rep_changes that have implemenation notes or if it's for all rep_changes in the Excel spreadsheet.

    Resolution:
It is not mandatory to shut down Aleph and apache when doing the AIN.
When installing the service pack, however, Aleph and apache should be shut down.

In the rep_changes Excel spreadsheet, the changes that have "Not Required" under the Implementation Notes are automatically handled. It often involves an $aleph_exe program being replaced in the "a" tree. Nothing needs to be done in these cases.
