    SIP2 Protocol error; AH field

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 16.02

    Description:
    We are testing the SIP2 server in Aleph v16.2
    Our vendor has informed us that the problem their system has with denied loans is that a mandatory field is missing from the checkout response - the AH due date (some logic in it - no checkout, no due date, but the protocol does states that AH be sent, and their system is looking for it).
    This is showing in our log - for a denied loan:
    <ACS response>
    <command>12</command>
    <header>0NNY20050526 132443</header>
    <AO>LibName</AO>
    <AA>41150750713</AA>

    <AF>Apply to circulation desk - Loan not allowed.</AF>
    <AG>Apply to circulation desk - Loan not allowed.</AG>
    </ACS response>

    Compared with an allowed loan:

    <ACS response>
    <command>12</command>
    <header>1NNY20050526 125131</header>
    <AO>LibName</AO>

    <CH>$$hPK2899 Z95$$iR876 1981</CH>
    <CK>001</CK>
    <AJ>Obrazt?s?y fol?klora t?s?ygan-k?ld?rare? / Izd. podgot. R.S. Demeter, P.S. Demeter ; [Pr</AJ>
    <AH>June 09 2005 11:59 PM</AH>
    <AF>Loan performed.</AF>
    <AG>Loan performed.</AG>
    </ACS response>

    Resolution:
    The site had the vendor (IDS) change it on their side, so the AH was not required.
