Set shown in www_server log has no corresponding z05. [PRB 8291]

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 14.2

    Description:
We find that there is a "set_number=245655" reference in the www_server_log, but there is no z05 for this set. Why would that be?

    Resolution:
Sets are the result sets: the lists of document numbers which satisfy a particular query.
After they are constructed they are stored as z05/z110 records in the vir01 library.

If users go to "Previous Searches"/"History", they can ask to display a previous search they have done. The resulting URL command looks like this:.

    http://library.your.edu/F/4BSV11TE2YTC1AQ4H32A7FJ33IQXNCL29THQ913TUJ6SQK6IBS-08137?func=history-action&submit_action=&set_number=025109&action_view.x=19&action_view.y=6.

Some users may bookmark this URL and try to go to it several days later, by which time the set_number which it references has been cleared out of the z05.

This does not cause any problem for the system; this simply means that users can't go back to previous searches after a certain period of time.
