* Error while trying to get Service Pack (21.01.1) for Aleph 21:
The ALEPH Service Pack download failed
... ALEPH 21 copy 1
* Error message in ftp logs in /exlibris/ftp_from_exlibris/sp is
"Extracting SP package... Multiple binary versions found - cannot continue"
For Aleph 21 there are several Solaris versions with different binary packages.
util sp does not reflect this before rep_change 116
Aleph 21 rep_change 116 fixes this issue for Solaris machines
Since there is not automatic way to bypass this problem, do the following to download this change as a hotfix
1. Connect to FTP server ftp.exl.de:
Password: see KB item FTP passwords for European customers (KB 30796) to obtain the access information
NOTE: User Outgoing does not have directory listing permissions. The usage of graphical FTP clients is therefore not possible.
2. Download package hotfix_ver21_rc116.tar.gz to a place on your Aleph server
ftp> cd HOTFIX
ftp> get hotfix_ver21_rc116.tar.gz
3. unzip and untar the file
tar xvf hotfix_ver21_rc116.tar
4. execute script aaa_install:
5. Rerun util sp
Description of rep_change 116:
The "util sp" mechanism has been adjusted to enable download of binary Service Pack files in Aleph 21. That is, in v. 21 there is Solaris Sparc vs. Solaris X86, whereas in previous versions it was just Solaris Sparc, but old COBOL vs. new COBOL. There is no change for Linux and AIX.
