Specifying closed holidays in GUI Circ - Loan "Open Hours"

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 18.01

    Description:
In the GUI Circ - Loan "Open Hours" screen, when we specify our summer hours (Open 9-5, Mon-Fri., June-August) and specify July 4 as a Closed date, the system still lets books come due on July 4.

The same is true of Christmas day -- which is a closed day within the changed hours for our Christmas break.

    Resolution:
The Loan "Open Hours" screen updates tab17. With v20 rep_change 3183, it breaks the June-August into three lines, and has this:

    ####06##
    ####07##
    ####08##
    ####0704

The ####0704 line in tab17 must be *before* the ####07## line. (If the ####07## is first, the system reads it first and treats all July days as Open.)

In order to make ####0704 be first, you need to do:

    From: To:

    June Open 09:00 05:00
    July August Open 09:00 05:00
    July 04 Closed

If you then look at tab17, you will see that you now have:

    ####06##
    ####0704
    ####07##
    ####08##

-- which is what you want.

KB 16384-22210 describes a related problem.
