UE_01 failing: Update z98 ; "INTERNAL LENGTH NOT CORRECT"

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 17.01

    Description:
UE_01 keeps stopping with the message:

    HANDLING DOC NO. - xxx01.005159811 09:39:10
    Update z98 from z980 : 005001058049
    Update z98 from z980 : 025001059441
    INTERNAL LENGTH NOT CORRECT!! 025001059441

    Execution error : file '/exlibris/aleph/a17_1/aleph/exe/compress_data_ads.gnt'
    error code: 114, pc=0, call=97, seg=0
114 Attempt to access item beyond bounds of memory (Signal 11)

If I delete the key of the record it was processing from the z07 and restart ue_01, it will continue for a while,
but will eventually fail again with the same message. ...

(I think the problem was caused by some Oracle buffer space problems that we were experiencing last night
as a result of a run of manage_18 that was updating a large number of records. )

    Resolution:
This message indicates corruption of the Z98 table. In some cases Programming has run a special program to delete the problem words from the index (so that they are no longer searchable) -- and then p_manage_40 was used to re-add them. In other cases, the site chose to run p_manage_01 (in parallel) to rebuild the Words.
