Unable to create title level request. No available items associated with record

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20

    Description:
The text of the following message is not very helpful: "Unable to create title level request. No available items associated with record." This same message seems to display with all items that are not requestable. I.e., I see this text with items that cannot be requested because they are non-circulating, and with items that cannot be requested because they are available on the shelf.

Do you know where this text is generated? Does it come from Primo or from Aleph?

    Resolution:
The text of messages passed from Aleph to Primo are in the $aleph_root/error_eng/dlf_global file. We see:

0537 Unable to create title level request. No available items associated with record.

If you want to change this text, you should:

    > cp -p $aleph_root/error_eng/dlf_global $alephe_root/error_eng/dlf_global

and modify this u-tree version of the file (rather than the a-tree version, which is susceptible to replacement by Service Pack).

Both this message and the similar message:

535 Title does not have requestable items

are issued by the ./dlf_service/dlf_get_buf_z30_hold_group program.
