    What can change tab_system_status (other than util w/5)?

    Do you know what can change tab_system_status other than manually running util w/5?

    Our test server had SYSTEM and WWW-SERVER in status DOWN, which causes the www server to fail on each connection.

    Resolution:
    The only ways that tab_system_status can be updated are

    (1) via util w/5 or
    (2) using "vi".

    {We checked $aleph_proc and /alephm/source (using global_grep).}

    In this particular case someone had used util w/5 to Toggle SYSTEM and WWW-SERVER Down.
