What script should be run after a cold backup to restart background jobs?

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 17.01

    Description:
After a cold backup the background jobs all need to be restarted. What should our computer center be running for us to do this?

    [ <Jerry Specht > ]

    Resolution:
After a cold backup, you need to restart Oracle and then run $alephe_root/aleph_startup to restart the servers, the queues, and the daemons. One daemon which it restarts is the job daemon. (The job daemon constantly checks the job_list to see if there are jobs needing to be released at this particular time.)

If, by "cron jobs", you are referring to cron scripts which you, yourselves, have created, those are outside the scope of what the aleph_startup does.
