Where does list of bases in the GUI - Find - Advanced Search come from?

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 19.01

    Description:
The list of bases displayed in the drop-down in Cataloging - Find - Advanced Search is not the complete list as defined in tab-base.eng, and the wording of the bases that are there is different.

So where does this come from? It isn't in pc_tab_exp_field.eng.

    Resolution:
It comes from searbase.dat – which is a gui client file, in /alephcom/tab, on your PC. You can also access it through the ALEPHADM client (Configuration/Libraries Manager/Bases for Search).

You can add bases to this file as necessary.

If it is an external base i.e. z39.50 the library code would be EXT01, otherwise it would be XXXnn etc (you can also add the appropriate wording for the base Description).
