XML/XSL parse errors" attempting to view large Aleph reports

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 21

    Problem Symptoms:
When attempting to view larger reports (such as "PatronList") in the Task Manager FileList a dialog box with the following error message appears:

    "XML/XSL parse errors"

Is there a size limitation for viewing reports in Aleph?

    Cause:
The user was trying to view the single large file rather than the two smaller files (PatronList.1 and PatronList.2) the system broke it into. These two pieces should be printed rather than the larger PatronList file.

    Resolution:
Print the smaller files which the system has generated rather than the large file.

    Additional Information

The cut-off size is 78 meg: if a print file is more than 78 meg, the system will break it into multiple pieces, each 78 meg or less.

If the "XML/XSL parse errors" occur in all cases, regardless of size, see KB 16384-48673 ("Empty XSL files under .xxx60Templateseng on pc"). If that doesn't apply, search the Knowledge Base for others.

The breaking up of larger outputs into smaller pieces to obviate printing problems occurred with v18 rep_change 1739 (v20 rep_ver 15392).
