Z69 table: what is it? how populated/cleaned?

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20, 21, 22, 23
    • Relevant for Installation Type: Dedicated-Direct; Direct; Local; Total Care

Can you give me information about the Z69 table? What is it and how does it get populated? Should it be cleaned out on a regular basis? I don't see anything about this table in the Oracle table documentation.

    Resolution:

The z69.pdf document describes the z69 table.  See attached Z69.doc .

Z69 table stores web OPAC events much like z35 stores ADM library events.

The z69 is used to get more detailed OPAC Statistics. It is used by the ALEPH Reporting Center, but could also be built and queried by local SQL scripts.

It is populated by the www_server as users perform queries. It's like the z35 statistics table: when you are done with the statistics for a particular time period, you can delete the Z69 records for that time period.

This table could grow large *very* quickly. I believe the number of records would be similar to the Z34 (for those who have that set up), but since the Z69 record is 10 times as large, this table would be ten times as large.

In version 22-up, util x/13/2 can be used to delete older records from this table (-- once you have produced whatever statistics you need.)
