    ebook designation in tab_type_config.eng

    Description:
We are on ALEPH version 18.

I'm trying to write a description for Ebooks in tab_type_config.eng. I'm not quite succeeding, but am not sure why.

For example, this works after reindexing (p-manage-01)

TYP Ebook 856## EXIST (translation is MARC tag 856## is not blank)

But what we really want to say is if MARC tag 856 is not blank AND 245 subfield h says "electronic resource" - then it is an ebook. We include table of contents from the library of congress in field 856 for many of our monographs but do not actually have the full-text of the monograph online, so the first condition does not always fit the definition of ebook.

So I thought perhaps the line needs to be modified to say:

    TYP Ebook 856## EXIST
    245 h *electronic resource*

right now adding the second condition fails the test, even after reindexing.

I am wondering if anyone would be willing to share the lines from their tab_type_config.eng file on how ebooks is defined.

    Resolution:

    [From Francois Renaville, ULG.AC.BE:]

    We use the following configuration:
    ! 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
    !!!!!-!!-!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!-!!!!!-!!!!!!!!!!-!!!!!!!!!!-!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!-!
    TYP e-book LDR F06-01 N-EQUAL m
    LDR F06-01 EQUAL [a,t]
    LDR F07-01 EQUAL m
    007 F00-01 EQUAL c
    007 F01-01 EQUAL r

Even if column 2 is left blank, only BK records are concerned. All CF records have LDR/06 coded as m.

    [From Christine Moulen, MIT:]

We don't use TYP, but one of the ways we get around table of contents URLs for another purpose is to be more specific about the 856 indicators, and to virtually change the second indicator to 2 using a fix routine when $$3 says Table of Contents. (We don't really change the indicator, just do it temporarily on the fly during indexing or
    display)

Then we only look for 856 40 and 856 41 as full-text URLs.

Here are some sample lines from a fix.

! Make Toc URLs act like related website, rather than the resource.
    2 856## CHANGE-SECOND-IND-MATCH #,2,$$3Table
    of contents
    2 856## CHANGE-SECOND-IND-MATCH #,2,$$3Table
    of Contents
    2 856## CHANGE-SECOND-IND-MATCH #,2,$$3table
    of contents

You would call this fix in your WORD indexing expand section.

We've also done a database clean up such that the rest of our 856s have
