    manage-01: W-MAX-INDEX-TYPE = 000; Error(s) in tab00

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20

    Problem Symptoms:
xxx60 library manage-01 terminates immediately with the following error:

    W-MAX-INDEX-TYPE = 000
    Error(s) in tab00, EXIT

and produces no p_manage_01_a.cycles file in the xxx60 $data_scratch.

    Cause:
The xxx60 tab00.eng lacks Word indexes (that is, it has no entries with W-nnn in column 3; only two "IND", Direct index, entries.)
Since xxx60 tab00.eng has no Word indexes there is nothing for manage-01 to do.

    Resolution:
    1. If no Word indexes are intended or needed for the xxx60 library, don't run manage-01.

    2. If Word indexes are needed, add appropriate W-nnn entries.

    Additional Information

If Word indexes are added to tab00.lng, the first entry (the W-001 entry) *must* be for the general "WRD" index):

    H WRD W-001 00 00 Words

See KB 16384-13345 ("Keyword Indexing in Holdings Library") in this regard.

    3. If a value higher than "W-200" is specified in the tab00.lng, the following message will appear in the p_manage_01 log:

    "Err: " TAB00-INDEX-TYPE " in tab00"
    " is not between 1 and 200"
