OUT 51 Mon 17-03-2008 09:51:41 150.210.165.167 Error: Multiple matches using match section "OCLC "

    Resolution:
This is occurring because of the way you are matching, aggravated by the length of the 1XX field. Here is the relevant line in tab_match:

    OCLC match_doc_acc tab_match_acc

This means to use the matching program called match_doc_acc using the field(s) specified in the table called tab_match_acc. There is only a this line in tab_match_acc:.
    1####

This means to match on any 1xx tag. So the system is comparing the 100 tag on the incoming tag with the existing authorities. The problem is that the field used for the comparison only handles up to 69 characters in the heading, and the authority record being imported matches multiple headings if you truncate the heading at 69 characters. At almost all ALEPH sites, authorities are set up to match on the 010 tag, rather than the 1xx tag. If you want to bring in a corrected form of an author's name, for example, you don't want to match on this field because they are, by definition, different. It would be much better to match on 010.
