    p_file_20; Z305 table

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 20

    Description:
We recently had a new ABC51 ADM installed.

While working on building a new PLIF load for ABC51, I have noticed that while the Z305 table is missing.

Can someone please advise if we should add this ourselves, or if Ex Libris should be involved.

    Resolution:
If you have an abc51 z305, the system will look in that table for a z305 with Z305-SUB-LIBRARY = 'ABC51'.

But since the abc51 tab100 has USER-SHARING=Y, that means that, if there is no abc51 z305, the system will look in the $usr_library for a z305 with Z305-SUB-LIBRARY = 'ALEPH' and use that.

When you create a Local Patron record, the system checks the xxx50 tab31, column 22 ("Automatically create ALEPH record") to see if a z305 (with the key "ALEPH" should be created (in the $usr_library).

As described in KB 5830, the existence of the z305 in the ADM library is optional when USER-SHARING=Y, but since you will be running p_file_20 for the abc51 library, I think you should create the z305 table for abc51. You can do this by doing util a/17/1 in abc51. (Make sure you are in abc51 when you do this!)
