p_print_03 will not print to default xxx01 print directory

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 18.01

    Description:
When we run print-03 in the ABC01 library, it runs to completion but produces no output in the default ABC01/print directory. Putting the full path in the Output File field causes the output to be correctly written to the indicated directory, but a limit on the number of characters allowed in the Output File field makes this option impractical. Also, when you check "Print to ADM" library, the output *is* printed to the ABC50/print directory, but, again, not to the ABC01/print directory.

    Resolution:
As stated in the p_print_03 Help for the outfile parameter: "The file can be found later in the library's scratch directory." (Not the $data_print directory).

I find that the output file *does* appear correctly in the $data_scratch directory: the outfile of print_03_test.js (whose log can be seen in $alephe_scratch) was written to abc01 $data_scratch/print_03_outfile.js -- as specified in the p_file_out parameter.
