p_publish_06 : can it publish to an off-site drive? Z00P?

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 18.01

    Description:
Right now, in publish-06, you can specify a directory to publish a file. We are currently publishing to a "shared" directory on a NFS drive that shares with our Primo Server.

Could publish-06 be directed to a drive "off-site" not in our network?

If so, can the Z00P, created by publish-04 and updated ue_21, be stored on a non-network disk as well?

    Resolution:
Any drive that you can mount or sym link to in their OS could be used as the publish-06 outputs.

In regard to the z00p being on a different server, Eyal says this:

Theoretically it is feasible, but I would strongly recommend not doing so.

Changes which are out of our standard setup can cause problems and support will be more difficult.
