    self-check receipt has "Fee: $2.00"

    I'm not sure the two are related, but yesterday morning we installed SP 3488 (ver.20). Today our Circ staff are reporting that receipts from self-check machines are showing a fine of $2.00 when we have never charged patrons in the past for using self-check machines. I have attached an example.

    I am not sure where this fine is coming from. The Circ staff tell me that the patrons are not actually being charged the fine, but patrons are nonetheless confused.

    Resolution:
    The sip2_edit_field_bv_item program calls tab18_get for type "0004" and, if the amount is not spaces, sends a "BV" message to the self check machine with the TAB18-SUM.

    The tab18.eng line looks like this:
    0004 ##### ## ## N 2.00 Loan

    v20 rep_change 3606 (to be included in the Nov. 2011 Service Pack) corrects sip2_edit_field_bv_item to use the TAB18-SUM only if the TAB18-FLAG is "Y".

    In the meantime, you can prevent the appearance of this "Fee" line on the self-check receipt by changing the TAB18-SUM on the 0004 line in tab18.eng to spaces.
