www_server: "license_check [err]: No match for IP address 000.000.000.000"

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Aleph
    • Product Version: 16.02

    Description:
The Web OPAC is getting "Page not found" and in the www_server log we see this:

license_check [err]: No match for IP address 000.000.000.000

The fact that it is looking for an ip address of 000.000.000.000 rather than the actual ip_address of the server, indicates that something is out of synch.

    What do we do?

    Resolution:
Adding an address of 000.000.000.000 to the license file (done by Ex Libris staff) corrected the problem.

Note: this can also indicate that there is a mismatch in the host name. Before using the work around check to make sure that the following files (or any files directly referencing the host name) have a consistent host name or fully qualified host name (as appropriate). The system files will be different for operating systems other than Linux, but also need to be checked.

    $alephe_root/apache/htdocs/main.html
    $alephe_root/apache/conf/httpd.conf
    $alephe_root/apache/conf/ssl.conf
    $alephe_root/www_server.conf
    $alephe_root/aleph_start
    /etc/sysconfig/network
    /etc/hosts

After the above files have been resynchronized the server will need to be rebooted for all of the changes to take effect.

In another case, it seemed that rebooting the server, by itself, corrected the problem.

    Additional Information

license, ip address, page not found
