"Error generating document" shows on an Analytics Scheduled Report (Excel)

Question

An Analytics schedule report sends (emails) an Excel Spreadsheet, and instead of content, the file has: "Error generating document".  The report runs fine manually.

Answer

Check if the report is saved in a private folder, or if it relies on a shortcut to a private folder. This can be tested by letting another user (e.g. from ExL support) to run the report. If another user can't run the report - recreate it and save in a public folder.
