Alma doesn't assign lender due date from request when loaning the item to the patron

    • Product: Alma

    Question

When receiving an item from a lender in Alma, we want to use lender due date that is in the resource sharing request. However, when we loan the item to the patron the due date is assigned is from loan Terms of Use (TOU). Shouldn't the date in the request take precedence?

    Answer

The fulfillment parameter 'ignore_lender_due_date' (Configuration > Fulfillment > Other Settings) determines if the lender due date in the resource sharing request is used:

    • If set to ‘false’ the request due date is used
    • If set to ‘true’ then the request due date is ignored, and due date is assigned from the TOU of the temporary item created in the fulfillment process

    Additional Information

Configuring Other Settings (Fulfillment)  - ‘ignore_lender_due_date’
