Error: "More than one request found for entered item, please enter request ID" during Scan In, how to proceed?

    • Product: Alma

    Question

Upon Scan In, get: More than one request found for entered item, please enter request ID

    How to resolve this situation?

    Answer

If requests are found to exists, this is actually the expected behavior.  The message pops up when having multiple requests for the same record.

The solution is to ensure that "Automatically print slip" is selected (should be Yes).

Described in the Alma Fulfillment Guide (link given below):

    Automatically print slip:

The method for printing the slip:

    • No – Manual selection is required (default).

    • Yes – If multiple requests match the scanned item, one is activated automatically.

This controls the printing of the resource request slip, not the transit slip. If the wanded in item has more than one request, then setting this attribute to Yes will cause Alma to automatically select the request that will be fulfilled by the item, as per the requests’ priority and the time it was submitted. If this attribute is set to No, then the system will respond with the message, More than one request found for entered item, please enter request ID.

    Additional Information

If no requests exist, please see related article, "More than one request found for entered item, please enter request ID".

Online Documentation explaining the situation is linked here.
