Hold Shelf Period is defined in Request TOU but ignored

    Question

Where is the Hold Shelf Period configured?

    Answer

The Hold Shelf expiration date is taken either from the Request TOU (Terms of Use) "Hold Shelf Period", or the number of days defined in the Circulation Desk "Maximum time on Hold Shelf (Days)".  The application will take the lesser of the two.

Note:  For resource sharing requests, the hold shelf period can be determined as for a regular request, or by the Request Due Date minus the Delivery Delay (days) that can be viewed in Fulfillment > Partners > Edit a Partner > General Information. This is the default option. You can change the default option in  the rs_hold_shelf_expiration parameter at Configuration > Fulfillment > Other Settings

For more information, see Managing the Hold Shelf
