    Link resolving to journals that changed title/ISSN

    Description

    For an article from Primo Central, the green dot indicates full text availability, but Viewit displays "No full text".

    In some cases, the requested coverage is available for a journal in Alma, but link resolving will fail because the title/ISSN coming from the vendor matches with a related journal that doesn't cover this article.

     

    This might happen because vendors list previous or newer versions in their holdings causing inconsistencies in the Community Zone. For example, the journal Civil Engineering Systems is now named Civil Engineering and Environmental Systems.

     

    Resolution

    The solution for such cases is to enable the Related Records Services for electronic titles. 

     

    1. In Alma, make sure that the requested journal has an activated related journal with the requested coverage.

    2. Go to: Fulfillment > Fulfillment Configuration > Configuration Menu > Discovery Interface Display Logic > Related Records >

         Enable related record services = Yes 
     

    Viewit Tab will display results for the related journal with the requested coverage.
