How to publish a Database (electronic collection) to Primo?

    • Product: Alma

    Question

What triggers Alma to publish the Electronic Collection itself (e.g. database), and not only its portfolios, to Primo?

    Answer

    Requirements for Electronic Collection:

Electronic collections are available (to be published to Primo) after they are activated.

Requirements for Electronic Collection Type Database:

    1. Electronic Collection editor > "Additional Information" tab > "Electronic Collection Level URL".

    2. Electronic Collection editor > "Additional Information" tab > "Additional descriptive information".

    3. Activate

    Additional Information

See more in the Online Help, "Working with Electronic Collection Bibliographic Records and URLs Added to the Community Zone":

As part of the activation process (see Activating Electronic Resources), you can also select a new bibliographic record for the Additional descriptive information parameter. The Mark Bib as suppressed is selected by default. If you choose not to mark the bibliographic record as suppressed, the bibliographic record is published to the discovery system and access to the electronic collection is available through the Alma Link Resolver by directing the user to the electronic collection level URL.
