PDF.js in the new Alma Viewer

What is PDF.js and when will it be enabled?

Answer

PDF.js is a service based on the HTML5 canvas that has been embedded in the new Alma Viewer.  It will be enabled starting in July 2021, replacing the browser to render all PDFs when viewing digital content in the new Alma Viewer.  PDF.js will correct defects previously experienced when rendering PDFs, especially targeting issues experienced when using mobile devices.  In addition, PDF.js has an expanded tool set for searching and browsing.
