PO numbers are not sequential

Question

PO numbers increase sometimes by 100 or even 1000. Is there a way to control the counter? Is this counter specific for the Institution, or is calculated for a group of Alma Institutions?

Answer

The development team confirms that the PO number is an Alma internal sequence, and there might be gaps in the numbers causing them not to be sequential. The numbers are per institution, and are assigned by a mechanism which takes them in bulks. Gaps in the PO Number sequence can happen.
