Users Synchronize job report: "Total records processed" - what does the number mean?

    • Product: Alma

    Question

What does "Total records processed" or "Records processed" mean in relation to records processed by a Job? When looking at "Monitor Jobs", we see that the SIS (Student Information System), or Import Profiles, sometimes refer to "records" interchangeably, counting instead the files processed. Can this label be clarified?

    Answer

The Development team has confirmed that "Total records processed" is an internal development label, referring to the number of SIPs (or "bins"). This count is not always relevant for customers, but does have relevance for the Development team.

In the case of the SIS Integration Profile, the Report will detail the "Total users processed" which refers to the the total number of users contained in the XML file that the job ran on. This total is further broken down into categories/lists detailing the outcomes of the job:

    • Total users rejected
    • Total users updated successfully
    • Total users created successfully
    • Total users unchanged

In the case of Import Profiles, the Report will detail the number of records processed, as well as the number of Files.
