Should the "Ful Cancel Request Letter" be sent when converting a request to a resource sharing request?

    Question

Should the "Ful Cancel Request Letter" be sent when converting a request to a resource sharing request? How can I stop this letter being sent to patrons?

    Answer

This is the expected behavior, since the original request is canceled as part of the conversion process. While other methods of canceling requests allow a choice for sending patron notifications, that is not currently available here. Instead, the letter can be updated to make the process clearer for patrons.

LIbrary staff with privileges for updating letters can change wording, such as 'cancel' to 'update' while Ex Libris support staff can change the language used for the cancellation reason from 'Converted to resource sharing request' to more patron-friendly language like 'Your request has been converted to an Interlibrary Loan (ILL) request. You will receive another email when the request has been received.' Submit a support request with your preferred language to have this change made.
