    Question

Users Integration Profile (SIS Patron Loader, SYNCHRONIZE) fails with error: "premature end of file"

    Answer

    One customer advises:

-- Prepping zip files for testing on a Mac, it seemed the Mac was including a .DS_Store file..and likely the Alma code was failing at the point of trying to work with that file. Upon creating the zip using command line using the recommendation here (http://superuser.com/questions/198569/compressing-folders-on-a-mac-without-the-ds-store), it was possible to do some successful testing.

    Another customer found the following:

-- The SIS load failed as result of connection issue from the university's applications, over to Alma. They further explain: Our nightly process does two things: first, it synchronizes internal users using the Ex Libris APIs, and then, second, it generates the SIS load file and makes it available for Ex Libris to grab later in the night. Our server couldn’t connect to the Ex Libris APIs last night for some reason (maybe they had scheduled downtime or maybe there was a network outage somewhere along the line), and as a result, the internal user synchronization failed. (We hope someday we won't have to use two different patron loads for "external" and "internal" users.)
