Where does replacement cost come from for patron billing?

    • Article Type: Q&A
    • Product: Alma

    Question

Where does replacement cost come from for patron billing?

    Answer

Alma looks first in the item record for replacement cost, then (if no price is listed in item) uses the Lost Item Replacement Fee from the associated TOU.

    Additional Information

Note that Voyager works the same way as Alma in this regard -- Voyager takes the replacement cost from the Price field on the item record, then (if Price is null) looks at the Circ Policy Matrix Definitions for the Lost Item Replacement Fee.
