Why do the encumbrance and disencumbrance timestamp appear to be identical?

    • Product: Alma

    Question

Why do the encumbrance and disencumbrance timestamp appear to be identical when they actually occurred at different times?

The Disencumbrance should at least theoretically show date and time of the expenditure (invoice), or PO Line's cancelation.

    Answer

Funds are disencumbered once the invoice has been saved, and the timestamp is tied to the encumbrance date + one millisecond.

So, even though the encumbrance/disencumbrance appear to happen at the same time, they do not. Rather, the timestamps are set by Alma so that they will always be sorted together in the transaction list.
