Why is A New "End of Term" Event Not in Effect for Renewals?

    • Article Type: General
    • Product: Alma

    Question

After adding a new Event for "End of Term" in the Institution Calendar, why is there no change in the fixed due date? The renewal should extend the loan to the new "event date", for example, the end of next semester.

    Answer

The new "End of Term" Due Date Policy is not yet attached to the Terms of Use (TOU). To attach it to the TOU:

    1. Navigate to the Configuration Menu (make sure you stay on the institution level)
    2. Select Fulfillment > Physical Fulfillment > Advanced Policy Configuration
    3. Filter "Policy Type" by "Due Date"
    4. Find the End of Term Event and click the ellipsis button to editEND OF TERM Update Due Date.png
    5. Find the new End of Term Event in the "Value" dropdown and select itEND OF TERM Update Due Date 2.png
    6. Click "Save"

    Additional Information

To add a new End of Term Event, see article "Add or Modify an "End of Term" Event For a Fixed Due Date in Alma"

The "Event" needs to be added on the Institution level: "Libraries inherit events and exceptions from the institution", read more at: "Configuring Institution/Library Open Hours".

For more information on configuring Terms of Use, including different types of due dates, See Documentation "Physical Fulfillment - Configuring Terms of Use"
