    Question

Why is there a process type called WORK_ORDER_DEPARTMENT showing for a record?

This is a work order that doesn't exist in our config settings, and it can't be cleared from the item record (either by going into the item record itself, or by clearing it using a Change Physical Items job).

    Answer

This unusual work order department is displaying because of a mismatch in the status of holdings and items: the holdings for this title have been deleted, but the items are still active.

You can find the holding ID in Analytics (create a report in the Physical Item Subject Area with the item barcode or ID and the holding ID).

You can restore the holdings in the Manage Deleted Repository tool (Alma menu > Resources > Advanced Tools) using the Holdings ID for this record. Use the Restore button.

Once the holdings are restored, you can work with the items again (e.g.: perform "scan in" to remove the process type).
