Administration and Infrastructure - August 2017 Enhancements

Retention Period for User Record Audit Trail

You can now set the length of time that user audit trail records will be retained. A new parameter user_audit_retention_period was added to Other Settings of the User Management Configuration menu. A weekly job, User Audit Purge with Retention, deletes history records that are older than specified in the retention period. For more information, see Working with User Audit History.

    Primo Email Login

In addition to other social network login options for Primo, an end user can now sign in to Primo using an email link. For more information, see Primo Login via Email.

    RFID Security Status

When RFID is enabled, searching for physical items now displays the RFID Security Status when it is available. The field contains either Checked Out or Available. Checked out indicates that the item is on loan and may leave the library. An item that is available cannot leave the library. See Performing a Simple Search.

When scanning a multi-part item using RFID, if one or more of the resources is not scanned, a message appears indicating that not all of the item resources were scanned. See RFID Support.

    Additional Administration and Infrastructure Enhancements

    • The new UI enables you to select a color from a predefined set of color themes. See Configuring the Alma Logos and Color Scheme.
    • You can now configure Alma to use an institution's mail relay, instead of emailing recipients directly. See Configuring Outgoing Email.
    • idea_exchange.png Idea Exchange: The User Mandatory Fields tables (Configuration Menu > User Management > Public and Staff and External Contacts) now include Resource Sharing Library as one of the fields that may be set to mandatory for the Manage Users page. See Mandatory Fields Configuration.
