Collaborative Networks - December 2016 Enhancements

Managing Shared Digital Resources When Working with a Network Zone

Digital inventory created in a Network Zone can now be exposed to member institutions. This allows the Network Zone's inventory to be discoverable by member institutions and appear in the View It tab. To allow sharing of an institution's digital inventory, set the shareDigitalResources parameter to True. For more information, see Configuring Other Settings.
This is in addition to last month's development whereby member institutions can share their digital inventory with each other.

Managing Display Logic Rules When Working with a Network Zone

It is now possible for the Network Zone to distribute additions, deletions, and updates of display logic rules to all of its member institutions, or to a specific member institution only. Executing Republish Shared Entities or Distribute Network Fulfillment Changes to Members republishes the display logic rules. The member institution has the option to remove or deactivate its own institution rules.

    Remove or Deactivate Institution Rules
Deactivation or deletion of institution rules at distribution time is controlled by a new parameter, network_display_logic_distribution_members_behavior. The values for this parameter are None, Remove, and Deactivate. The parameter defaults to None, which does not change the institution rules. Remove will remove all institution rules. Deactivate will deactivate all institution rules. For more information, see Configuring Other Settings.
An additional new parameter, network_display_logic_rules_precedence, allows the Network Zone to determine which rules take precedence—the institution's rules or the network's rules. The parameter defaults to False, which sets the institution rule to taking precedence. True defines the Network Zone rule as having precedence. For more information, see Configuring Other Settings.
