Ex Libris has agreement with many providers to enable us to provide enrichment of MARC records for the benefit of the entire community. Where Ex Libris does not currently have such agreement, then as well as continuing to work to secure such agreement, we put in place alternative methods to enrich records locally.
If the content provider is not listed among those sending Ex Libris enriched records for monographs, there are alternative methods to locally enrich the records using the provider’s MARC files via import profiles.
For example:
- Elsevier’s MARC records can be downloaded from their librarian resource center. This generates MARC records for your institutional holdings, which can be uploaded using an import file to enrich the available Elsevier records in your Institution Zone.
- IEEE’s MARC records from 2021-onwards are available through OCLC’s WorldShare. Libraries with OCLC cataloging subscriptions (and options for libraries without a subscription) can set up IEEE collections cataloged by OCLC to download your holdings, which can be uploaded using an import file to enrich the available IEEE records in your Institution Zone.
