Why am I not seeing historical title entries available in Springer Nature collections?
Answer
Titles/portfolios for historical title entries, previous titles, and title splits/merges are excluded in Springer Nature KBART files.
For example:
The following title changed its name in 2018 to Perspectives on Behavior Science:
Previous Title Name: The Behavior Analyst
Title Identifier: ISSN: 2520-8977
Springer Nature does not create a separate entry when a journal changes its name. Instead they continue updating the existing record using the new journal name, but keeping the original start date and volume information from when the journal was first published.
In the title list, this record does not show the previous title The Behavior Analyst, it is shown under the current title:

For this reason, the journal Perspectives on Behavior Science shows the start date as 1978-04-01 (Volume-1, Issue-1) in the title lists that Springer Nature provides.

This is an ongoing issue with Springer Nature KBART files which the provider has informed us that they are in the process of updating their KBART files in the nearby future to add multiple entries for journals.
