    Configuring Researcher Profiles

To configure Esploro, you must have the Configuration Manager role.

    User Authentication

You can configure a default authentication method and profile that is used in the Researcher Profiles (Research > Researcher Center > User Authentication).

    User Authentication

Based on the authentication profiles set up in the system, (SAML/CAS/LDAP) the relevant authentication profiles are displayed for the administrator to choose from as the default authentication option used in the researcher profiles. You can only set one option as Active.

You can change the order of the fields in the column, and, for each field, you can enable/disable the field or change the field's label.

If an asset does not have a value for a particular field, that field does not appear in the Researcher Profile regardless of whether or not you enable the field in this table.

You can view and change the labels in the Researcher Profile in a series of code tables in Configuration > Research > Researcher Center > Labels.

    Researcher Center Labels Code Tables

Open each code table by selecting Customize in the row actions list. Locate the label that you want to change, modify the description, and select Customize. The other features on these code tables (add, enable, disable, move up/down, and default value) have no meaning and no effect. Do not delete any rows.

As an administrator you can configure the color theme of your institutions's researcher profiles. This includes uploading your logo (on light or dark backgrounds to match different displays) and color palettes to define the color theme of the researcher profiles.

Enabling Profile Theme Configuration by Researchers
    To enable profile theme configuration:
    1. From Alma, navigate to (Research > Researcher Profiles > Branding).
    2. In the Branding Management section, attach a logo (maximum size of 10 MB), define your color palettes, and define your elements. Colors defined in the Color Palettes section must be defined according to their six character hex value.

    Researcher Details

New for August! You can control which fields will appear across all public researcher profiles (including links, identifier types, area of expertise, research topics, address types, etc.), using the new Researcher Details table found in Research Configuration Menu > Researcher Profiles > Researcher Details.

For each field, you can select whether the field will display in the public researcher profile.
