    Intota Assessment: 360 COUNTER Reports: Journals

    What can you tell me about the data in these reports?


    360 COUNTER Journal Reports let you analyze e-journal usage through any of the interfaces you offer to your patrons, such as the native database interfaces and ProQuest discovery services.

    The journal reports below include the following information:

    • Report: The report name

    • Data Source: Where the data is coming from. If the report includes multiple sources, the most pertinent source is listed.

      • COUNTER reports from providers need to be uploaded to your Intota or Client Center profile in order for the consolidated reports below to display data. For information about uploading COUNTER reports: Intota users click here.

    Journals (R4)

    Report Data Source Notes
    Top Chart JR1 reports. Pie chart view of top 20 eJournals used, along with year-to-date ejournal usage followed by activity for the four previous years.

    Ejournal Report JR1 reports. Results come from successful Full Text Article requests (JR1) using metric ft_total (total full text requests). Cost per use is included when costs have been added to your Client Center or Intota profile.
    • Use the Month and Report View filters to drill down to quarters or months for your requested timeframe.
    • The Provider and Publisher filters work independently so that a report can contain, for example, data at the provider level along with data from particular publishers on provider platforms.
    • Display options when Report View filter is Yearly:
      • The Select View drop-down menu at the top of the report offers these options:
        • Combined View (CY): Calendar year (CY) report with duplicate titles combined into 1 title. Default display.
        • Detailed View (CY): Calendar year (CY) report with duplicate titles displaying separately.
        • Combined View (FY): Fiscal year (FY) report with duplicate titles combined into 1 title.
        • Detailed View (FY): Fiscal year (FY) report with duplicate titles displaying separately.
    Ejournal Performers JR1 reports. View the activity of ejournals for a specified time frame. Filter by greater than or equal to 1, 10, or 100.
    Ejournal Change in Use JR1 reports. Choose to include in the report: Titles with Negative change, No change, and/or Positive change. Change in use is displayed as percent (%) change.
    Ejournal Turnaways JR2 reports. A turnaway (rejected session) is defined as an unsuccessful log-in to an electronic service due to exceeding the simultaneous-user limit allowed by the license.

    Click on a year to drill down to quarters and months.
    Ejournal Zero Usage JR1 reports. Query titles without any usage. Search any time period equal or greater than one month.
    Ejournal Usage by Fund JR1 reports. Fund names are created by library in its Intota or Client Center profile.
    Archived & Combined ejournal Holdings JR1 and JR1a reports. Displays both current and archival usage for a title. Activity types are broken out so current versus archival usage is apparent.
    • Use the Month and Report View filters to drill down to quarters or months for your requested timeframe.
    Ejournal Auth Title by Subj with CPU JR1 reports. Cost comes from library-provided information in Intota or 360 Resource Manager. 4 levels of HILCC subject categories are viewable.
    Ejournals from Two or More Providers JR1 reports. Compare cost and usage and determine which provider offers the best return on investment.
    Ejournal Gold Open Access JR1 GOA reports. Click on a year to drill down to quarters and months.
    Ejournal Request from an Archive JR1a reports. Click on a year to drill down to quarters and months.
    Ejournal Usage by HILCC JR1 reports. Subject headings are mapped from the 050 (call number) field of the MARC record, therefore not all journal records will include subject headings.
