    Changing the PDS User Password

    Description:
How can I change the PDS user password?

    Resolution:
The explanation for how to do this seems to have dropped out of our 3.13 documentation. It was nicely documented in the 3.12 PDS manual (Section 8 - Changing PDS password). Here's the description:

You need to change the password in the ./dat01/tab_management table, then also add the new password into the tab_service.<institution> table(s), where the metalib_x_server.pl is used.

For example, an AUTHENTICATE service line becomes:

    INSTITUTE-CODE LOUGHBOROUGH
    SERVICES AUTHENTICATE
    PROGRAM-NAME metalib_x_server.pl www.myuni.com,8334,BOR-AUTH,pds,1234
    END

In the above example, pds is the username and 1234 is the password.

Change this for the BOR_INFO service as well, and for other institutions that use metalib_x_server.pl

If no new username/password is added to the tab_service.<institution> tables then the default value (pds/pds) is used.

    Additional Information

    PDS,password
