Configuring the calculated text for availability and get it in the results list

• Article Type: General
• Product: Primo
• Product Version: 2

Description:
*Would you point me to where to configure the text that displays with the "get it" link on the results page?

*Currently, some of the records display with collections & call numbers e.g.,
Available at B... College, B.... Library Education Resource Center (510.78 C855m ) (GetIt)
while others do not.
Available in H... Libraries, University .... (GetIt)

We prefer the call numbers, but I don't know where to control that.

* Some of the displays (like the first example above) that do include the collection names don't fit in the space. Where do we edit the collection names for this particular display? Will doing so affect the way they display in other parts of the front end?

* Where do we change the wording "GetIt"? Is it possible to just eliminate that phrase?

Resolution:
Q: Would you point me to where to configure the text that displays with the "get it" link on the results page?

A: Delivery configuration combines various configuration tables. I’ll first explain the theory (in a nutshell) and then explain the configuration elements. The first part that controls the availability text is the library and institution level availability. This is configured in Primo Home > Advanced Configuration > General Configuration - Delivery Sub System. In your case they are both set to Y. This means, in a library specific scope or institution specific scope the availability will be based on the searched scope. By library specific scope we mean only 1 library type scope is chosen in the view wizard - Edit Search Scope page.

For example: in case an item exists in 2 institutions: AAA and BBB
If the item is available in both libraries, search in AAA - which is an institution specific scope, will display the following availability text:
Available in H... Libraries, University of AAA (GetIt)
If the search was performed in BBB - which is a library specific scope, it will display the following availability text:
Available at B... College, B... Library Education Resource Center (510.78 C855m ) (GetIt)
If the search was performed in the union view – the availability text is per the user’s institution – i.e. available in your library.

If the AAA item was not available in both institutions, search in AAA institution specific scope will display the following availability text:
Checked out from H... Libraries, University of AAA (GetIt)
If the search was performed in BBB library specific scope it will display the following availability text:
Checked out from B... College, B... Library Education Resource Center (510.78 C855m ) (GetIt)

If 1 of the items was available and the search was performed in the union view – the availability text was per the user’s institution – i.e. if the user institution is AAA and the item available only at BBB the availability text will be: available in other libraries.

The availability text configuration is done in the ‘Calculated Availability Text’ code table.

Q: We prefer the call numbers, but I don't know where to control that.

A: If you prefer the item location display (library + collection + call number) you need to change all search scopes definition within the view wizard to use only 1 library type scope and create/define library level scopes. This is done in the view wizard - Edit Search Scope page.
Edit the scopes in the Scope Values Configuration [Primo Home > Ongoing Configuration Wizards > Pipe Configuration Wizard > Scope Values Configuration], and change the Scope type to Library.

If you want to create a scope for every library in an institution it is necessary to change the configuration of scopes, view and NR. Then run pipe and reindex.

Please note: in the union view or a search scope that is not library specific this option doesn't exist.

Q: Some of the displays (like the first example above) that do include the collection names don't fit in the space. Where do we edit the collection names for this particular display? Will doing so affect the way they display in other parts of the front end?

A: If you mean by “…don't fit in the space” that in some cases the library + collection + call number information is long and the UI stretches it to the whole line and in some cases it still cut off and continues to a second line:
The library names comes from the ‘Library Names’ code table. If you change the text in this table, it will affect all parts of the front end. The collection names come directly from the PNX display section library level availability field.

You have the option to display the collection and library names differently in the collection/library facets. For that purpose only you’ll need to configure another code table called ‘Collection and Library Facets’. If you want to do it, you’ll need to enter the following syntax before the code in the first column: default.facets.facet.facet_domain.<library code>

Q: Where do we change the wording "GetIt"? Is it possible to just eliminate that phrase?

A: The "GetIt" text configuration is done in the ‘GetIT! Text’ code table. It is theoretically possible to eliminate the phrase; in this case you’ll need to replace the text ‘GetIt’ with . However, the parenthesis is hardcoded, so you’ll still see (_) instead of (GetIt).
