    How to Create Persistant Link to Data Source in Primo

    • Product: Primo
    • Product Version: 4

    Desired Outcome Goal:

    Add a persistent link to Primo for a harvested data source (such as the ILS or a digital repository)

    Procedure:

    To create a persistent link to a harvested data source in Primo:

    1. Create an Advanced Configuration > Mapping Tables > Delivery sub system > Templates table entry for the URL template.
    Sample settings:
    Code = YOURINST_persistantlink
    Template Code =

    http://[your-primo-url:port]/primo_library/libweb/action/dlDisplay.do?docId={{control/recordid}}&vid=YOURINST

    Description = Template for Persistent URL

    2. Create an Advanced Configuration > Code Tables > Front End sub system > Full Display Labels table entry for the display text.
    Sample settings:
    Code = YOURVIEW.fulldisplay.YOURINST_persistantlink
    Description = Persistent link to this item
    Language = en_US

    3. Edit the Normalization Rules for the scopes.
    Sample settings:
    PNX Field = links/lln01
    Type = Constant
    Value = $$TYOURINST_persistantlink$$EYOURINST_persistantlink
    Transformation = Copy as is

    4. Run a renormalization pipe and the new links should appear in the Full Display > Links section.
